"Margin Call" Doubles Down at Independent Spirit Awards
Writer-director and friend of Millionaire Corner J.C. Chandor was honored Saturday night with two Indpendent Spirit Awards for Margin Call. The Wall Street drama, set in an investment bank on the eve of the 2008 economic collapse, received a Best First Feature award as well as the Robert Altman Award. The awards were handed out last Saturday. Chandor was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, but lost to Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris.
