November 24, 2014 Millionaire Fact of the Day

November 24, 2014 Fact of the Day:  Investors views on working during Thanksgiving

Did you know that most Millionaires aren't happy about the Thanksgiving Day sales?  As big retailers continue to move up the timing of when their big sales begin, wealthy shoppers don’t necessarily appreciate having commercial activities impact Thanksgiving Day.  In 2013, Millionaires were asked how they felt about retailers being open on Thanksgiving night.  Eighty six percent indicated that the “didn’t like to see employees having to work on Thanksgiving”.  Eighty two percent felt that they “didn’t like seeing the holiday turned into a commercial event”.  Fifty percent felt that “family and friends should be together on Thanksgiving….not shopping”. Another 35 percent acknowledged they liked holiday sales…but not on Thanksgiving.  And 16 percent said they were too busy on Thanksgiving to take advantage of the sales.

Do you plan on shopping on Thanksgiving or do you find it offensive?  This year we are doing new research and will let you know if people are beginning to accept this trend.
