DID YOU KNOW THAT INVESTORS BELIEVE SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE INVESTMENTS SHOULD COST THE SAME AS OTHER INVESTMENTS?

In recent research conducted by Spectrem Group, only 3 percent of investors felt that they should pay a premium for socially responsible investments.  Twenty-two percent of investors felt they should pay less for socially responsible investments.  Three- quarters of investors felt that socially responsible investments should cost the same as other investments.

Older investors are more likely than others to feel that socially responsible investments should cost less at 27 percent.  In contrast 10 percent of investors under the age of 35 are willing to pay a premium for these types of investments compared to only 2 percent of older investors.  Wealthier investors are also more likely to believe that socially responsible investments should cost less than other investments at 29 percent.  Twenty six percent of men believe these investments should cost less than other investments.
