June 15, 2015 Fact of the Day: Concerns about national issues differ by age
DID YOU KNOW THAT OLDER INVESTORS WORRY MORE ABOUT THE FEDERAL DEFICIT THAN YOUNGER INVESTORS?
In recent research of retirement plan participants conducted by Spectrem Group, 52 percent of investors under the age of 35 indicated they were worried about the Federal Deficit. In contrast, 76 percent of investors between the ages of 50 and 64 were concerned about the federal deficit. Sixty eight percent of those over 65 were worried about this issue….the same percentage as those between the ages of 35-49.
In contrast, 66 percent of these young retirement plan participants were worried about tax increases. That compares, however, to over 80 percent of investors in all of the older age groups.
What national issues are you the most concerned about? Tax increases? The Federal Deficit?....or what about Political Gridlock?
