| BY Adriana Reyneri

Most affluent investors report a positive relationship with their financial advisors, but older and wealthier clients appear the most satisfied, according to a recent monthly survey from Spectrem’s Millionaire Corner.

Retirees and investors ages 61 and older tend to see their financial advisors as attentive and trustworthy, according to our March survey. High levels of satisfaction are also reported by high net worth investors – those with investable assets of $5 million up to $25 million – and investors who describe themselves as very knowledgeable.  Here’s a closer look at affluent investors’ attitudes toward their financial advisors:

·         I like my financial advisor: Close to two-thirds (64 percent) of affluent investors overall strongly agree with the statement. The share rises to three-fourths for high net worth investors and 71 percent for retirees and investors ages 61 and older. Investors tend to rely more heavily on financial advisors as they age. ·         My financial advisor really listens to me: More than half (54 percent) of affluent investors overall strongly agree that they’re heard by their financial advisors. The share rises to two-thirds for high net worth investors, and 63 percent for so-called knowledgeable investors and retirees. Who do high net worth investors rank as the best financial advisors? ·         I feel comfortable calling my advisor with questions: Not quite two-thirds of affluent investors overall strongly agree. The share rises to 73 percent for both high net worth and retired investors, and 72 percent of knowledgeable investors and those ages 61 and older.

·         My advisor is a trusted expert: A large majority (57 percent) of affluent investors overall strongly agrees. More than two-thirds of high net worth investors and 64 percent of retirees see their financial advisors as trusted experts.
