Thanksgiving is a time when family gets together and shares a meal and a tradition as America. We eat the same delicious favorite foods, see family we may not have seen for a while, and talk about how Christmas is right around the corner. Every year, I travel to my brother's house where his wife makes an incredible meal from scratch and hosts 12-17 people. I feel that dressing up for the holiday sometimes gets overlooked, and it is important to look nice and still be comfortable while having thirds of stuffing! I start with a staple that I absolutley love- Splendid French Terry black leggings $68. These leggings are super comfortable and are made of a nice weight of material. They do not pick up lint and fuzz like other brands and wash well too!
I decided that when I think of the holidays, I think of red plaid. So I pulled out my sheer red, green, & blue plaid blouse. I found you a similar one at Macy's by Ralph Lauren for $79.50. Since around the country we are experiencing extra low temperatures, I needed to put a cozy cashmere cardigan over the blouse that you can find at Lilly Pulitzer called the Brynne Cardigan $288. Lilly Pulitzer cashmere is really well made. Unlike other brands that ball and get tiny holes, Lilly stays looking fresh and new. It is another great year round staple to add to your collection. To finish off my look, I grabbed my "Tall Jane" dark brown Frye's. I love that the "Tall Jane" ( $302.95 at Amazon) has a 2 inch heel and goes over the knee. Very ladylike; yet, they are functional and casual. And then if you know me, you know I always like to pair a pearl necklace with anything from jeans to a cocktail dress in order to finish off my look. Here is a perfectly comfortable dressed up look to wear to any Thanksgiving feast and look polished.
