Heather's Couture Corner - Louis Vuitton Celebrates the Monogram Collection

| BY Heather Kiely

They're coming!!!! The much anticipated Louis Vuitton Celebrating the Monogram Collection is here! If you follow Louis Vuitton on Instagram, then you might have seen the ad campaigns featuring each designer's creation. Each designer took something as classic as the Monogram and has made it their own creation. I do have to say some bags I love, while others are a bit out there for my taste. My favorite is the "Shopping Bag" and "Shopping Trolley" created and designed by Christian Louboutin. Of course, when you think Christian Louboutin, you think red, right?! Well, you would be correct because all his creations have a gorgeous pop of red; whether it be in the piping or trim, it is definitely there!

My second favorite was created by Cindy Sherman, and it is the "Camera Messenger Bag." With bright hues of hot pink, turquoise, aqua, and orange, Cindy takes the classic Monogram material and puts colorful stickers all over it, creating a a fun playful look.

Then, there are the designs that I just couldn't wrap my head around-like the "Bag with Holes" created by Rei Kawakubo. I imagine the bag has material behind the holes, but I am not positive on that… The "Bag with Holes" has the shape of the classic "Sac Plat" which I love! But I could do without the holes…

Now, we know that since Karl Lagerfeld is the head designer for the fashion house of Chanel, there was going to be some chains in his Louis Vuitton Collection. The bag he created is "The Punching Bag" which has a bucket shape and chain linked gold straps. Very creative and yet practical for running errands as your everyday bag, but still fresh and current for this season's styles.

Check out the designs, and if you find one you love, you may want to call your closest boutique to get on a waiting list for these must have treasures. Looking for a little treasure yourself? I'm Heather Kiely reminding you to keep your investments where you can see them; in your closet, of course!
