Heather's Fashion Blog - On Trend: Fall Booties

| BY Heather Kiely

Last Monday, my friend Nancy and I went to the Zodiac Room at Neiman Marcus for lunch. Nancy and I both had the "Love Salad" and, of course, popovers with cinnamon butter. (Yum!) So, Nancy let me know after lunch that we were going to go look at a pair of ankle booties by Rag and Bone. (Please follow me on Pinterest under Millionaire Corner Fashion Pics to see photos of all my favorite things!!!) Rag and Bone makes the coolest - I'd say - edgy boots. More edgy than Frye..... I am pretty classic and lean more towards a traditional or frilly boot. So, after lunch, we headed over to the ladies shoe salon and started to look at the different Rag and Bone booties. They were very cute, and Nancy was in heaven. She fell in love with a tan pair as well as a black pair of booties. She went back and forth before finally deciding on the tan. I was looking at the same style but in grey/taupe. I really liked them, but for $495 I feel I should LOVE them. I couldn't put my finger on why I wasn't sold, but I just couldn't pull the trigger. Feeling inspired after our trip, I started researching all the different kinds of booties I would like for Fall and came up with these top finds. I hope you enjoy :)

Kate Spade "Mannie" Bootie
What I love most about the Kate Spade "Mannie" Bootie is the elegance of the bow. It is a functional black or grey ankle bootie with a mid size block heel, but it could go from day to night.

You could pair these puppies with jeans, cords, a sweater dress, or a skirt and look absolutely adorable. Then, if you were going out that night, you could add textured tights, a dress, and some jewelry and be ready for dinner and dancing!

The "Mannie" is available at for $350.  If you are looking for a dressy lower cut bootie, Kate Spade also offers a suede black pair with a bow in the back and a gold heel. They are called the "Netta" bootie.

Very pretty and also available at for $398. Both pictures are up on my Pinterest page! Be sure to follow my Millionaire Corner Fashion Pics board! ;)

UGG Studed Motorcycle Boot "Conor Studs"
Get your motor running, head out on the highway!!!! Looking for adventure and what ever comes my way!!!! The motorcycle boot is HOT! Each brand has their own version of it, but I really like what UGG brought to the table. The "Conor Studs" come in black with gunmetal studs and in chocolate brown with gold studs.

I had the opportunity to try on the black with gunmetal and loved them! They are tough and trendy but also have a hint of glamour, which is right up my alley. The studs add just the right amount of detail and the cute buckles and fold over flap seal the deal. If you are looking for a great pair of motorcycle boots for fall to stick your black leggings or skinny jeans into, this is the pair!! I guarantee lots of compliments.

Frye "Veronica" and "Deborah" Boots
Frye is a classic brand that I have always turned to for high quality and durability. Frye has been making boots since John A. Frye opened his doors in 1863 in a small shop on Elm Street in Marlboro, Massachusetts. Frye boots are a fashionable choice even though they started with a simple concept of sturdy, well made traditional boots. Over the last hundred years, they have joined the fashion trends of today. My favorites are two boots Frye offers for Fall. The Veronica Shortie Motorcycle Boot in mushroom (gray) offers a slouchy, vintage-inspired, lived-in look.

Like the UGG boot, it looks great with black leggings or any skinny pant. If you are looking for a beautiful boot with less "BLING", this bootie is for you! Now back to my obsession with bling...... Frye also offers a studded white distressed boot that is bound to take your breath away. It is called the "Deborah Star-Studded Ankle Boot, White". The Deborah is a western inspired boot with distressed white leather, star stitching at the toe, and several different colored earth toned studs.

These boots might not be for everyone, but with a plain black sweater, your favorite jeans, and a chunky infinity scarf, you are golden! Both the "Veronica" $298 and the "Deborah" $498 are available at

Manas "Marta Leather Wedge" Bootie
Last but not least (because I actually bought these beauties)..... is the "Manas Marta Leather Wedge Bootie with Rabbit Fur Trim". So, there is this little store up in Lake Geneva, WI that I frequent a few times a year with my mom and sister. I am originally from WI and understand that looking fashionable is fun... but being warm is the most important thing. We LOVE our fur! The store has everything from sheepskin coats, fox fur vests, cowhide rugs, leather jackets, to the furriest ear muffs you have ever seen. The prices are very reasonable considering the high quality product you are getting. If you are familiar with the store in Aspen call Gorsuch, then you would love Overland. (I consider Overland my more affordable Gorsuch.) So, back to the Manas "Marta Leather Wedge".... I was instantly drawn to them because of the quality Italian leather and real rabbit fur detail.

I was looking for a bootie to wear with my jeans for an everyday look. I went back and forth on the UGG "Conor Studs" and just wasn't sure they were me, but these were definitely me!!! I loved the wedge that gave me height, the easy to get in side zipper, the cognac color that goes with everything, and the fur that would take me from Fall to February. SOLD!! For an amazing price of $295... The Manas "Marta Leather Wedge" is available at; their website offers free shipping and returns.

Whether you can pull off the sleek edgy look like my girlfriend Nancy, or you are a bit more frilly like me, I hope one of these boots fits whoever you are and brings your closet a bit of cheer!!! I'm Heather Kiely; thanks so much for stopping by my fashion blog and remember keep your investments where you can see them - in your closet, of course!
